The midwife

Cally Rushbury,
EM, RN

Hello, I'm Cally. I've been a midwife since 2018, studying locally in Gippsland and gaining my initial training at West Gippsland Hospital. I moved into the homebirth space in 2023 and haven't looked back.

Outside of work, I'm a mum to four children — one of whom was born at home, into the arms of his big sister. Life is full: school runs, netball, a garden, and ten acres to tend. It keeps me grounded in exactly the kind of life my families are living.

How I think about birth.

Founded on Christian values.

Fiat Midwifery is a woman-centred private midwifery service, founded on Christian values. Care for each woman and family is based on individual needs and desires — never a one-size-fits-all approach.

Continuity is the gold standard.

Time and time again, research shows that continuity of care is the gold standard of maternity care — something that is too often lacking in our modern maternity system. Fiat Midwifery offers exactly this, whether you're birthing at home, in hospital, or simply need support through pregnancy and postpartum.

Informed choice is non-negotiable.

I will never make a decision for you. My job is to give you the information you need — clearly, honestly, without agenda — and to support whatever you decide. All care is delivered in accordance with the Australian College of Midwives National Midwifery Guidelines.
